Diet soda contains&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chhs.colostate.edu\/krnc\/monthly-blog\/the-low-down-on-diet-drinks-how-much-is-okay\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">about 200 mg of aspartame<\/a>&nbsp;per 12-ounce can. By that measure, an adult weighing 60 kg, or roughly 132 pounds, would need to drink about 12 cans of diet soda a day to exceed the JECFA\u2019s recommendation, assuming they had nothing else containing aspartame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Making matters more confounding, the Food and Drug Administration had yet another take.
