Devon Archer, a business associate of Hunter Biden\u2019s, has&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/house\/4136376-five-takeaways-from-devon-archers-interview-with-house-oversight\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">previously testified to the House Oversight Committee<\/a>&nbsp;that businesses were interested in working with Hunter in part due to his proximity to the Biden \u201cbrand.\u201d<br>&nbsp;One key piece of evidence Republicans have cited from Archer\u2019s testimony is that Biden participated in roughly 20 phone calls with Hunter\u2019s business contacts. However, Archer stressed those encounters consisted of small talk like the weather and not issues of substance. Others, like&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/joe-biden\/irs-agent-tells-house-committee-was-meddling-hunter-biden-case-rcna90689\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">testimony from whistleblowers<\/a>&nbsp;who claim the government gave Hunter Biden lenient treatment in its investigations into potential misconduct, have been largely&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/justice-department\/fbi-agent-disputed-key-portions-irs-whistleblower-claims-hunter-biden-rcna104807\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">discredited<\/a>. As&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/09\/12\/us\/politics\/biden-impeachment-case.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the New York Times explained,<\/a>&nbsp;\u201cthere is no evidence that Mr. Biden ordered that his son get special treatment in any investigation.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0Overall, House Republicans\u2019 investigations have not found any actual, concrete proof of wrongdoing by President Biden. As a result, their decision to keep on backing an inquiry is surprising, since it\u2019s historically not been done until\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/6313452\/impeachment-experts-biden-inquiry-weakest-us-history\/\" target=\"_blank\">there\u2019s significant evidence of misconduct<\/a>.
