That agreement, negotiated in 2015 under President Barack Obama, essentially eased US sanctions on Iran in exchange for curtailing its nuclear program and allowing greater international oversight of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Iran deal was one of the worst and most one-sided transactions the United States has ever entered into,\u201d Trump said when the agreement was terminated in 2018. Since then,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/armscontrolcenter.org\/a-worthless-withdrawal-two-years-since-president-trump-abandoned-the-jcpoa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Iran has built up its stockpile of enriched uranium<\/a>&nbsp;and increased its missile supply,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/investigations\/no-evidence-iran-rushing-build-nuclear-weapon-cia-director-says-rcna174004\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reportedly bringing the program much closer to developing nuclear capabilities<\/a>&nbsp;\u2014 despite the Trump administration\u2019s promise that Iran would never have them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trump also pulled the US out of the Paris climate agreement, which commits all signatories to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Other diplomatic casualties of the Trump administration include the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/trumpwhitehouse.archives.gov\/briefings-statements\/president-donald-j-trump-withdraw-united-states-intermediate-range-nuclear-forces-inf-treaty\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty<\/a>&nbsp;(INF), a Cold War-era pact between the US and Russia limiting the development of short- and intermediate-range nuclear weapons; the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.armscontrol.org\/factsheets\/openskies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Open Skies Treaty<\/a>, which allows signatories to conduct military reconnaissance flyovers; and two&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.brookings.edu\/articles\/trump-wants-out-of-global-migration-discussions-cities-want-in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">international migration agreements<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trump also repeatedly critiqued NATO during his first term.
