“After spending millions of taxpayer dollars on a fleet of new vehicles with Donald Trump-inspired paint jobs<\/a>, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents reportedly don\u2019t want to drive them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last summer, a slick promotional video <\/a>captured a Ford Raptor pickup truck and GMC Yukon SUV rolling around Washington, D.C., with music from DaBaby playing over close-up images of navy blue paint jobs with red-and-white racing stripes and a gold seal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The words \u201cdefend the homeland\u201d appear on the side, and \u201cPresident Donald J. Trump\u201d is printed in gold on a rear window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Homeland Security<\/a>\u2019s preview of its new fleet \u2014 with paint jobs designed to look like the president\u2019s private jet \u2014 cost more than $700,000. The government ultimately spent more than $2 million buying up hundreds of new cars with custom wraps, according to contracts reviewed by The Independent.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But officers don\u2019t want them<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cICE has never had marked vehicles,\u201d one person familiar with the purchases told the outlet. \u201cIn talking to people, they\u2019re like, \u2018We don\u2019t want to use these, we can\u2019t.’\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another said it\u2019s \u201cridiculous\u201d to drive marked cars because \u201cyou don\u2019t want to advertise what you\u2019re doing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re just hiding them in a parking garage somewhere because we don\u2019t want to drive them,\u201d the person reportedly told the outlet. \u201cWho wants to drive the marked vehicles?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roughly 25 newly delivered ICE vehicles are sitting at an immigration detention facility in California, unused, according to the Examiner.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ICE has denied any suggestion that its new vehicles aren\u2019t being used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
