Living in a\u00a0country subjected to an average of 10 airstrikes per day has left millions feeling far from safe.\u201d Victims included \u201ccivilians shopping at markets, receiving care in hospitals, or attending weddings and funerals; children on buses; fishers in boats; migrants seeking a\u00a0better life; individuals strolling through their neighborhoods; and people who were at home.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Support for the royal aggressors made US officials into coconspirators. Reported\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/09\/14\/us\/politics\/us-war-crimes-yemen-saudi-arabia.html\" target=\"_blank\">the\u00a0<em>New York Times<\/em><\/a>\u00a0in September 2020: \u201cThe civilian death toll from\u00a0Saudi Arabia\u2019s disastrous air war over\u00a0Yemen\u00a0was steadily rising in 2016 when the State Department\u2019s legal office in the Obama administration reached a\u00a0startling conclusion: Top American officials could be charged with war crimes for approving\u00a0bomb sales\u00a0to the Saudis and their partners. Four years later, more than a\u00a0dozen current and former U.S. officials say the legal risks have only grown as President Trump has made\u00a0selling weapons\u00a0to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and other Middle East nations a\u00a0cornerstone of his foreign policy.\u201d&#8221;<br>&#8230;<br>&#8220;Last November the United Nations Development Programme estimated Yemen\u2019s death toll at 377,000, 70 percent of whom were children under five. However, the move effectively cleared the deck for negotiations.
