Under Trump, surveys of the federal workforce show that, while they still report believing in their missions, their morale has collapsed. They used to say they would recommend it as a good place to work. Now, under Trump, they do not recommend it. This is also true for how satisfied they are with their job, how satisfied they are with their organization, and whether their job inspires them. This makes it hard to hire, retain, and motivate employees.
Federal workers also used to say that they could disclose a suspected violation of a law, rule, or regulation without fear of reprisal; that arbitrary action, personal favoritism, and/or political coercion were not tolerated; and that they were satisfied with the information they got from management on what’s going on in the organization. Under Trump, no more.
These are signs of bad management and leadership.
