Deploying Troops to U.S. Cities Cost Half a Billion Dollars in 2025

“”Since June 2025, the Administration has deployed National Guard personnel or active-duty Marine Corps personnel to six U.S. cities: Los Angeles, California; Washington, D.C.; Memphis, Tennessee; Portland, Oregon; Chicago, Illinois; and New Orleans, Louisiana,” the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) responded to a query from Sen. Jeff Merkley (D–Ore.). “The Administration has also kept 200 National Guard personnel mobilized in Texas after they left Chicago. CBO estimates that those deployments (excluding the one to New Orleans, which occurred at the end of the year) cost a total of approximately $496 million through the end of December 2025.””

In 2024, Trump Rejected Numbers Showing a Homicide Drop As a ‘Lie.’ Now He Is Bragging About Them.

“Many factors outside the control of any given president affect crime rates, and the recent drop continues a trend that began before Trump took office.

Another historical point further undermines Trump’s credibility on this subject. During the 2024 presidential race, he was keen to deny the numbers he is now citing with pride.”

El Salvador Has Changed

El Salvador had serious and deadly gang problems. They then heavily cracked down on crime while reaching out to youth with programs offering alternatives to a life of crime. The crime crackdown came with human rights issues and a weakening of democracy.

The DOJ Thinks Cocaine Couriers Are Not Worth Prosecuting. Trump Thinks They Deserve To Die.

“Even as the president blows up drug boats, the government routinely declines to pursue charges against smugglers nabbed by the Coast Guard.”

Photos: What Is the National Guard Doing in D.C.?

“For locals, the guard members’ effect on crime remains debatable, but the accompanying checkpoints and stops have been uncontroversially disruptive. The oddest part of the spectacle is captured in the photos that follow. Uniformed and armed men and women from across the country can be seen all over the city wielding leaf blowers, hoses, and brooms as they do municipal chores—tasks for which they are surely overqualified.

The deployment is costing taxpayers between $1 million and $1.5 million per day. But over Thanksgiving weekend, the cost rose sharply: A close-range ambush near Farragut Square killed 20-year-old Specialist Sarah Beckstrom and left 24-year-old Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe in critical condition. The Trump administration immediately pledged to send in 500 more guard members. This act will further scramble the already confused logic about the necessity and utility of National Guard presence in American cities.”

What the Hell Is Happening in Cambodia? | AB Explained

In Cambodia there is a scam empire. If an offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is not true. If something seems so good that you are wondering who is the sucker here?, then you may be the sucker. Don’t send money to people you don’t know, especially girlfriends who may be scamming you. Many people were offered fake jobs, and when they flew to the country, they were kidnapped and forced to scam people online.
