Jesus was not mentioned by Greek or Roman sources in the first 100 years. And, his first Greco-Roman reference was a passing reference. Paul also tells us very little about what Jesus specifically said. Our earliest sources are the four gospels. They are not particularly reliable, but that doesn’t mean they are useless. The Gospels are not first-hand testimony, but people reporting hearsay. They couldn’t know Jesus’s exact words.
We can look at which testimony is earlier, whether one seems to be emphasizing a bias or a message rather than just telling us what happened, to what extent different sources agree with each other, and the extent that Jesus is saying something that seems like his followers would not want him to say.

The South left the Union in order to defend slavery and racial supremacy. The Southerners believed it was a scientific truth of the world that blacks were inferior and should be subservient. They didn’t lose these beliefs the moment they lost the war. After the Civil War, White Southerns responded to the loss by organizing in order to persecute, murder, beat, and instill fear in, blacks, in order to keep them down and maintain racial supremacy. White Southerners maintained white supremacy through terrorism.
The Klu Klux Klan, the KKK, started as a kind of social club, almost like a college fraternity. They made up silly-sounding titles and wore fun costumes. The people in it were racists, but they didn’t set up the organization to do racist things.
The Klan became a political organization when members perceived the North’s rule as too aggressive in potentially arming blacks in state militias and giving them the ability to vote.

The new Syrian government has allowed and committed murders of multiple ethnic minorities. Syria seems to have replaced one authoritarian state with another. The Kurds were crushed by the government after Trump abandoned them.

The Marines expect to be fighting where they may be on islands cutoff from resupply and need a weapon easy to maintain. They also expect to be close to the enemy, so a larger mag size is more important than the distance the bullet fires. And thus, the Marines are not adapting the Army’s new rifle. The Marines also don’t want to deal with the growing pains of adopting a new rifle and ammunition.
